Apple is close to updating its entire Mac line with the new M4 processor. This will be the first time the company has used the same generation of chips across all of its Mac models. According to reports from MacRumors and Bloomberg reporter Mark Gurman, the switch will take place over the next 12 months and will affect multiple models.

Apple is expected to skip the M3 chip in the Mac Studio and Mac Pro models and go straight to the M4.
