Our refurbishing process

Here's how it works

Procurement and processing

Our process starts with the procurement of IT equipment from companies that have unused but functional technology. We transport these devices safely to our logistics center. There we ensure the complete deletion and anonymization of all data in order to protect the privacy of the original users.

What is the

Circular Economy

At Janado it's all about the circular economy: A model that radically differs from the traditional linear economy - the so-called throwaway culture. Instead of supporting the short-lived “make-use-dispose” cycle, we rely on “make-use-refurbish”.

But what does that mean exactly? It's simple: We take used IT devices and carefully prepare them for a new life cycle - that's refurbishing. In doing so, we not only conserve valuable resources, but also prevent rare earths, which are contained in many electronic devices, from having to be mined unnecessarily. A win-win situation.

And the highlight: By foregoing new production we significantly minimize CO2e emissions, electronic waste and water consumption . In this way, we actively influence pressing environmental problems such as plastic pollution, e-waste and high CO2e emissions.

But we go one step further: At Janado, our mission is to raise awareness of the circular economy strengthen and thus promote a change in consumer behavior. Our goal? To establish refurbished as a standard and thus make a significant contribution to a more conscious and resource-saving lifestyle.

A little greener with every device

Together with Justdiggit we are setting an example: With every device you buy from us, you are actively helping to support valuable regreening projects in Kenya. The principle is simple: for every device sold, one euro goes to building Bunds, affectionately known as “Earth Smiles”. These semicircular earthen walls collect rainwater, stop the erosion of fertile soil and allow 124 square meters of land to bloom again per bunch. These green oases store CO2 and help cool the earth - both locally and worldwide.

REGREENING DURCH “BUNDS”

Your purchase enables the digging of semi-circular earthworks - “bunds” - excavated by the Maasai community in Kenya.
