Here’s how that works:
A SMILE FOR THE PLANET
Bunds, affectionately known as “Earth Smiles”, are semi-circular holes that collect rainwater.
They are dug by Justdiggit in project areas in Africa to collect rainwater that would otherwise flow away through the hard and bare topsoil of the soil. By digging bunds, large areas can be revegetated within a very short period of time.
This process prevents soil erosion, improves soil quality and cools the earth by storing CO2. Vegetation supports the cooling of the earth not only worldwide, but also of the soil locally through shade and plant evaporation.
