The news from the 28th04.2023 in short form:

  • iOS 17 is expected to include new features such as lock screen options, Apple Music changes, and design updates for App Library and Control Center.
  • iPadOS 17 is expected to get the lock screen options from the iPhone.
  • MKBHD has launched its first sneakers called M251 in collaboration with Atoms.

News about the upcoming iPhone operating system iOS 17

In the world of Apple news and rumors, there is a lot of speculation about the upcoming iOS 17. It is expected to be a minor update with a focus on stability and performance improvements. Still, some new features are expected, such as:b Lock screen font size options or a button to share custom lock screen designs with other iPhone users. There is also speculation about design changes for Apple Music with a simplified interface.

The question that concerns many Apple fans now is: When is iOS 17 coming? Apple is expected to announce the new operating system during its WWDC keynote on March 5. Announce June. Developers are excited about the first beta version of the update right after the WWDC 2023 keynote. A public beta version is expected to arrive in July. As usual, the update should be generally available in September with the release of the new iPhones 15.

However, it remains to be seen whether the information circulating on the Internet is correct, as Apple usually does not reveal details about future products. Some Apple watchers speculate that the company still has a few surprises in store for iOS 17 and that there may be more features than previously thought.

iPad OS 17: Will there be lockscreen adjustments like iPhones?

Apple will announce the operating systems for iPhones and iPads, iOS 17 and iPadOS 17, during the WWDC 2023 keynote on March 5th. Introduce June. Presumably, with the release of iPadOS 17, Apple will also bring the lock screen customization options that were previously only available to iPhones to iPads. Apple has only introduced the new customizable lockscreen for iPhones since iOS 16 - the iPads came away empty-handed. When the new feature comes to iPads with iPad OS 17, the unused lock screen on iPads will be ideally utilized and is expected to offer far more features compared to iPhones.

Tech YouTuber MKBHD launches with new sneakers

MKBHD, a well-known blogger for technology news and tech news, has launched its first sneakers onto the market together with the shoe manufacturer Atoms. The minimalistically designed sneaker called M251 is available in black and red and is made from 100% vegan and recyclable materials. The price for a pair is $189. MKBHD, also known as Marques Brownlee, is known for his tech news and product reviews. Now he has expanded his business to include an exclusive shoe collection. The shoe pays homage to MKBHD's first YouTube video from 2008: the video was exactly 2 minutes and 51 seconds long. The shoes feature both MKBHD and Atoms logos, as well as a signature from Brownlee on the label and a separate NYC plaque.

WhatsApp: Finally multiple devices can be used with one number

WhatsApp has introduced a new feature that allows users to use their account on multiple smartphones at the same time. The multi-device feature previously allowed users to use the application on Android tablets, browsers or computers alongside their main phone. With the latest expansion, users can now add additional smartphones. The company describes the feature as useful for small businesses that may want multiple employees to be able to access the same work number from different phones. However, it is also helpful for anyone who regularly uses multiple smartphones and wants to link them all to the same WhatsApp account.

To use WhatsApp on a secondary phone, you must first install the app on that phone. When setting it up, you don't choose the option to log in with your phone number, but rather "Link to an existing account". This will generate a QR code, which will then need to be scanned by your primary WhatsApp phone by selecting "Link Device" in Settings. The primary device you are normally logged in on is not required to receive messages on your other devices. This is also how you are logged out: you are inactive for 14 days or you log out manually. There should be no compromises when it comes to data protection: personal messages remain end-to-end encrypted despite using the multi-device function.
