On March 21, the OnePlus Ace 3V was presented in China, a smartphone that is expected to be launched worldwide under the name OnePlus Nord 4. Since the Nord 4 has not yet been officially announced, the information in this text is based on speculation and the features of the presumably identical Ace 3V. We assume that, like the previous model, the OnePlus Nord 3, there will be little difference to the previously released Ace 2V.
Availability and Pricing
The OnePlus Ace 3V was released in China on March 21st. In the smallest memory configuration, the cell phone is available at a price of 1999 yuan, which is equivalent to around 256 euros. Unfortunately, we cannot expect such a price in Europe, as it will probably be significantly more expensive. I would imagine that we will see the Nord 4 in a similar price range as its predecessor. As a result, we can expect a price of around €449 to €549.
An exact release date for the OnePlus Nord 4 has not yet been set, although a release in May or June is likely to be realistic. Since Oneplus released the previous models in the middle of the year.
OnePlus Nord 4 or OnePlus Nord 5?
There could be an interesting twist in the naming of the OnePlus Nord 4: Due to four being considered an unlucky number in China, it is possible that OnePlus could skip this number and go straight to the OnePlus Nord 5. This has already been the case when OnePlus made the name change from the OnePlus 3 to the OnePlus 5.
Large display in 2 colors
The first product images show that the OnePlus Nord 4 will appear in elegant black and vibrant blue. It impresses with its design with rounded edges and a slim display.
With a screen diagonal of 6.74 inches, the AMOLED display delivers a sharp resolution of 2772x1240 pixels. The high refresh rate of 120 Hz guarantees smooth movements and fast response times.
Stylish design with similarity to the OnePlus Nord CE 4
The design of the OnePlus Nord 4 is similar to that of the OnePlus Nord CE 4. This is particularly noticeable when you look at the back of the cell phone. This is characterized by its simple and rather inconspicuous design. As with the OnePlus Nord CE 4, there will also be a dual camera setup here, which are arranged one below the other on the right side. The set-up is completed by an LED flash, which is located below the cameras.
Dual camera: Limited to the essentials
So far there is no official information about the camera of the OnePlus Nord 4. If the device follows the identical Ace 3V and the Nord CE 4 in terms of camera, we should expect a combination of a wide-angle main camera and an ultra-wide-angle camera.
Powerful with Snapdragon 7+ Gen3
The OnePlus Nord 4 scores particularly well on the data sheet. Because under the hood there will be the Snapdragon 7+ Gen3 processor, which should ensure high efficiency and performance. The Snapdragon processor is manufactured using a 4nm manufacturing process and is comparable to the Snapdragon 8 Gen3, although the clock speed is worse.
Enough memory possible in two sizes
When it comes to storage, the OnePlus Nord 4 will have you covered, as you get up to 16 GB of LPDDR5 RAM and 512 GB of UFS 4.0 storage.Like the OnePlus Nord 3, we can probably expect two memory sizes, which means we should also get a smaller and cheaper memory size.
Bigger battery and faster charging
The Nord 4's battery has also improved and is really impressive on paper. The battery capacity is 5500 mAh and is recharged with 100W via cable. In all likelihood, there will be no wireless charging. The large battery is not a bad choice from OnePlus, especially because of the large AMOLED display and the powerful processor.
Conclusion: Will the OnePlus Nord 4 convince?
The OnePlus Nord 4 impresses with its elegant design. The phone is visually similar to the OnePlus Nord CE 4, which is particularly noticeable due to the dual camera setup on the back. The first images show that the device will be available in black and blue.
We can probably look forward to this feature of the OnePlus Nord 4:

In my opinion, the OnePlus Nord 4 leaves an impressive impression even before its release. If the speculation about the technical equipment is correct, the Snapdragon 7+ Gen3 processor promises powerful performance. The large 5500 mAh battery indicates a strong battery life, which should certainly be more than enough for a day. However, the 6.74-inch display size might be too unwieldy for some users.
I find the targeted selection of camera lenses in the setup, which focuses on practical use rather than quantity, particularly positive. However, it remains to be seen how the cell phone will perform in everyday life. If the price of €450 is the same as its predecessor, the smartphone offers an attractive price-performance ratio on paper.
