The Motorola Edge 50 Pro was officially launched in Delhi, India on April 3 and has been attracting a lot of attention ever since. In this article we look at Motorola's presentation and analyze what makes the device so special. From the striking design and technical features to the camera functions and charging options - we cover all the important details that set the Motorola Edge 50 Pro apart.

Elegant design with similarity to the Oppo Find X5

The Motorola Edge 50 Pro relies on a rather inconspicuous design in its design, with the camera module being particularly noticeable. At first glance you might think there are four cameras, but looks are deceptive. There is also a small lightning bolt at the bottom right. In terms of design, I see a certain similarity to the Oppo Find X5, which is particularly noticeable in the camera module.

From simple to striped patterns – there is something for every taste

The smartphone is available in three color variants: black, blue and silver. While black and blue appear rather simple and stay in the background, silver stands out due to its striking texture, which is somewhat reminiscent of a zebra due to the stripes.

Motorola Edge 50 Pro: powerhouse with top performance

The Motorola Edge 50 Pro wants to deliver strong performance with its future release: Equipped with either 8 or 12 GB of RAM and the new Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 processor, it should be one of the fastest devices on the market. When it comes to internal memory, Motorola uses a memory size of 128 GB. A little tight, but should provide enough storage for most apps, photos and videos with the Edge 50 Pro.

Small battery, but charges quickly

With a battery capacity of 4500 mAh, the Motorola Edge 50 Pro remains almost unchanged compared to the previous model. However, given the large and powerful display, this capacity could mean that the battery life leaves something to be desired under intensive use.

At least the battery fills up quickly thanks to the impressive charging speeds of 125 watts via cable and 50 watts wirelessly. This charging performance is therefore significantly higher than what many competitors are currently offering. So when you get ready for the day in the morning, your cell phone can be fully charged.

Large and bright display – optimal visibility even in sunlight

The Motorola Edge 50 Pro is equipped with a 6.7-inch curved OLED display that offers a refresh rate of 144 Hz. This enables a particularly fluid display. The resolution of the display is FullHD+ at 2712 x 1220 pixels. Compared to its predecessor, the device is slightly larger by 0.03 inches, which provides a little more space.

The brightness of the display can reach up to 2000 nits. This means the screen remains easy to read even in direct sunlight. On the front, Motorola uses a front camera  in a punchhole design, which is already familiar from the Edge 40 Pro.

Triple camera setup with AI support

The cameras on the Motorola Edge 50 Pro consist of a triple camera setup designed for a wide range of photography options. The 50 MP main camera with an f/1.4 aperture promises sharp and detailed shots even in low light conditions. The main camera is complemented by a 13mm ultra-wide-angle lens for extensive landscape shots and a 73mm telephoto camera that is equipped with laser autofocus and optical image stabilization.

For even better image quality, the Edge 50 Pro integrates AI-supported functions for the first time. These include AI adaptive stabilization that minimizes camera shake, auto focus tracking that keeps moving objects sharp, and an AI photo enhancement engine that automatically optimizes image quality. These features help produce consistently high-quality photos and videos under a variety of conditions.

Conclusion: Motorola Edge 50 Pro – a promising powerhouse on the horizon

The Motorola Edge 50 Pro is a remarkable smartphone in today's technology landscape. It impresses with its eye-catching design, strong performance, advanced camera features, AI functions and efficient charging options.

This is what you can expect with the Motorola Edge 50 Pro:

  • Stylish design in three colors
  • Powerful hardware with Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 processor and up to 12 GB RAM
  • Fast charging with 125 watts wired and 50 watts wireless
  • Large 6.7 inch curved OLED display with 144 Hz
  • Triple camera with AI support

Personal opinion and assessment

Personally, I find the Motorola Edge 50 Pro extremely promising, especially due to the strong performance and large display. However, the 6.7-inch size may be too large for some users. Given the large display, I would have liked a larger battery capacity to guarantee a good battery life. The fast charging speed is definitely a plus point, which largely compensates for the shortcoming of the low battery capacity.

The Motorola Edge 50 Pro is designed for those who need powerful performance every day. It impresses with fast processing, first-class photos and efficient loading. It's an exciting choice for technology fans who want to invest in excellence and innovation.
